JOCELYN MILLER

In 2010 I started a design initiative for the Warm Up music series to provide inspiring performance environments envisioned and realized by a rotating slate of emerging local artists, including Confettisystem, Chen Chen and Kai Williams, Fort Makers, Fort Standard, Nightwood, The Principals, and Thunder Horse Video. Six years later, the series continues to create opportunities for design artists to take part in the museum's program and community.

 

To expand the presence of Warm Up Design, I designed and operated a summer-long weekend shop centering on art, music, and sound objects to showcase the daily practice of Warm Up designers and musicians. I was lucky to collaborate with DAP/Artbook and CTRL to have a broad range of design publications and modular synthesizers as part of the shop, to make the space both discursive and interactive.
